'Prevention Point Pittsburgh (PPP) is dedicated to providing health empowerment services to people who use drugs. PPP's mission is to promote and advocate for the reduction of harms associated with injection and other forms of drug use, and to reduce the risk of HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, other blood borne infections, and overdose.

PPP's mission and services are all grounded in harm reduction. Harm reduction aims to minimize some of the negative consequences associated with drug use. Harm Reduction is also based in the belief in, and respect for, the rights of people who use drugs.

Harm reduction doesn't necessarily have to be about drug use. It's easy to find everyday examples of harm reduction when you look. For example, when you are wearing a seat belt, you're practicing harm reduction! We believe that people who use drugs deserve compassionate, non-coercive care. We seek to center the autonomy of our participants, and recognize they are the primary agents of reducing the harms of their drug use.
Sites are open 5 days a week! Services and supplies include:

Sterile Syringes & the works
Safer smoking & safer snorting supplies
Naloxone (opioid overdose reversing drug) training and distribution
Wound and vein care consultation
HIV, Hep C, and other STD testing (on hold during COVID)
Service Navigation to housing, treatment, MAT, and other services."
